We got there around 11:00. Wife got the two fried pork chops and I got the 6 filet plate with two sides. The portions were a nice size. Food was great and service great. Saw them on the day triper. Will go back again. We have enough food for a couple more meals.
This place is just the best!!! Great food, and a super friendly staff nestled inside an awesome restaurant with a very down-home vibe. This was our first of many visits, and it they did not disappoint in the slightest. Delicious!!! We liked it so much that I had to grab a hat and some more of that green tomato relish before we headed out.
Vernon's Kuntry Katfish is a Great place to go if your in the area, good enough to make a little bit of a detour or even go out of the way to visit. I always enjoy my meals there. My favorites are the Tuesday Lunch Feature (Fried Chicken) you can get a combination of any pieces and add extra pieces, for a small charge; my extra Thigh was 2.50. It comes with either 2 or 3 side items, Cornbread, Biscuit or Hush Puppies plus an Iced Tea included in the price. On Thursday they have a Great Meatloaf. If you go there during dinner or the weekends be sure to get the Fried Catfish. The service is always spectacular, HI HAILEY! Since it's a very popular restaurant, there might be a little bit of a wait. I highly recommend this place. I can't figure out why they got rid of the automatic Kuntry Style Side (Fries, Pinto Beans & Cole Slaw) but still with going to.
Visiting Conroe and hungry for seafood? You came to the right place. You are welcomed by a friendly and kind person and greeted at your table again with a smile. I ordered an iced tea and it reminded me of my grandmothers ;). After taking our order we got some delicious green tomatoes and hush puppies. It didn't take long for our order to come. Fresh, flaky fish, golden hash browns, flavorful fried okra, and a dinner salad. Their menu goes beyond fried so check them out and I hope you enjoy them as much as we did.
In Montgomery, TX for wedding and just happened to find this place. Scrumptious!! HUGE servings. Great service. Family atmosphere. Will be back in Conroe, TX this summer and will definitely eat here again

Food comes to the table hot! The employees are very nice. One fact I like was a sign I read stating that they use peanut oil for all their frying. They also sell pickled and jammed items. I enjoy the pickled green tomatoes relish, with a bite at the end. I also bought Bleu cheese stuffed olives, and they're great!
A very nice country restaurant. Basic atmosphere but yet nice. I had the grilled catfish and it was absolutely delicious, I would highly recommend this and I would.oeder this again.and again. The portions are quite large as well. The service was attentive and we never lacked for anything. Would visit again.
